Reveal Password Hidden Under Asterix using Firefox

In this post i will show you how to Reveal the Password hidden under Asterix without using any software. We can call it as a Script kiddie based trick but it is effective to show off in front of our Friends. For this tutorial we just need to have knowledge to use Browsers. Now we can check how it can be done.


How to Unloop the Password ?


I will show how to do in Firefox and Google Chrome



  • Using Firefox


What all You needed ?



First install Firefox and Install Firebug Addon


# Step 1 :


First of all ask your friend to take any of the website like Gmail , Facebook, Ymail or any website with login page and enter their username and password.

Example Here i took : www.gmail.com

Your Friend has typed his/her username and password, Now your role takes-place.


# Step 2 :


Now right click on the password field and click "Inspect Element With Firebug"

# Step 3 :


A new popup will come at the bottom of the page, there you will see Type = Password , Double click on password and Type "Text" in place of password. Then you will see the magic, in the place of Dots you can see the clear Text of The Password.

 Now you can see the text password in the Password field. Happy tricking your Friends :)

You can see the text password "You Are Screwed"

  • Using Google Chrome

It is easier to do this job in Google Than Firefox, because Google Chrome is having Default User Friendly Inspect Element.

We can check Ymail.com in Google Chrome. Steps are same as above, here we just want to right click and take "Inspect Element"

Click on Inspect element, there you can see "Type = Password " , then double click on password and change it to "Text" , i.e "Type = Text ".


Done You, done it with Google chrome also.
