History Of C

Dennis Ritchie

C is a computer Programming language developed by Dennis Ritchie during 1970's. Dennis Ritchie started this as System implementing language for Unix Operating System. C is developed at Bell Labs, he developed c by the help of earlier language's B, BCPL, CPL. For some years C was only used in Bell-Labs, but during 1978 Brain Kernighan and Ritchie released their description of C.
That made many professionals mind attractive to C, because of the new features that are implemented in C Programming Language, and it is so related to normal human language, so all can understand.

Until the development of C, UNIX Operating system was coded in Assembly language. After that development of Unix is using C language. The features in C attracted programmers and that cause to develop  C Compilers and Interpreters for Many Operating System.

Operating Systems like Unix, Linux, Windows are coded in C. From that we can understand what is the Power Of C.

Features / Power Of C :

• C has the features Of High Level Language
• C is Used for Both System and Application Programming
• C is the Only language Whose Compiler is also written in C
